Clear expectations. Respect for people.
Our policies.
In plain language.
How this website handles your information, what volunteering means, and the boundaries that protect the people behind this movement.
Effective and last updated: October 15, 2026
01 / Scope
About these policies
This is Angelia N. Bailey’s personal website, including information about We Are The Bear (WATB). Angelia operates the website and reviews volunteer requests. These policies describe this website’s current practices; they are not corporate bylaws, tax-exemption approvals, or a statement that planned entities have completed formation.
We Are The Bear’s Foundation and Action structures are being developed. Specific activities, responsible entities, and any required agreements will be identified before a volunteer assignment or donation arrangement begins.
Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date. The information notice in effect when you submit a request is recorded with that request. A new or unrelated use of your information requires appropriate notice and, where required, consent.
02 / Privacy
Your information
has a purpose.
What the volunteer form collects
Your preferred name, email, selected interests, availability, optional general location, and optional skills or experience. It also records your age confirmation, contact consent, policy version, submission time, review status, and a request reference. It does not ask for a birth date, street address, identification document, or payment information.
The form is for adults 18 and older. Please do not submit survivor accounts, identifying case details, medical information, or another person’s private information. If an underage request is identified, it will not be used for volunteer placement and can be removed.
How information is used
To review your interest, match potential opportunities, contact you about volunteering, manage requests, prevent duplicate or abusive submissions, and meet applicable legal obligations. Submitting the form does not subscribe you to a newsletter or authorize public use of your name, photo, or story.
Who can see it
Volunteer requests are stored in a private website database. The website’s review page is restricted to the founder’s authenticated account. Hosting and service providers process information needed to operate the site. Information is not posted as a public directory, sold, or shared for advertising. Any future team access must be limited to an authorized coordination need and disclosed as appropriate.
Personal information may be disclosed when legally required or reasonably necessary to address fraud, security issues, or threats to safety. No website or online service can promise absolute security or confidentiality.
Storage, retention, and your choices
New or closed requests older than 12 months are removed during routine intake and review activity. Records for ongoing volunteer coordination may be kept while needed. Provider backups and legally required records may remain subject to their own retention requirements.
You can ask to access, correct, or delete your request, or withdraw contact permission, by emailing JaneDoeWATB@outlook.com. Include your request reference if you have it. We may verify the request before acting and may retain information required for legal or security reasons.
Resource suggestions
The resource suggestion form collects the organization name, public website, state or nationwide coverage, type of support, description or correction, optional contact email, privacy confirmation, submission time, review status, and a reference number. Please do not submit survivor stories, case details, medical information, or another person’s private information.
Suggestions are stored in the private website database and reviewed only through the founder’s authenticated account. They are used to check resources, improve the directory, prevent duplicate or abusive submissions, and follow up if an email was provided. Resource details may be published after review; the submitter’s email is not included. Nothing is automatically added to the public directory, and submitting does not subscribe you to marketing.
Suggestions older than one year are removed when the suggestion form or review inbox is next used. You can request access, correction, or deletion by emailing JaneDoeWATB@outlook.com with your reference if available. Provider backups and legally required records may have separate retention periods. This form is not monitored as a crisis service.
Directory search and filters run in your browser without submitting your search terms to the website. External support organizations have their own privacy, eligibility, and reporting practices. Check these directly before sharing identifying information.
Stories shared by email
The survivor-story page links to an email addressed to JaneDoeWATB@outlook.com. Clicking the link opens your own email application. This website does not receive or store the message or attachments. Your email provider and the recipient’s provider process delivery, and sender names and email addresses may be visible.
Angelia personally reads the private survivor inbox; volunteers do not have access to the raw accounts or contributor identities. Emailing a story is not, by itself, consent to publish it, identify the contributor, or use it for another purpose. Publication permissions and the contributor’s chosen attribution are discussed separately. You can contact Angelia about access, correction, withdrawal, or deletion, subject to legal obligations and the practical limits for material already distributed.
Cookies, hosting, and outside links
This site does not add advertising trackers, analytics tools, or nonessential cookies. The hosting provider may process technical data such as IP addresses, browser details, and security logs. Owner review uses Cloudflare Access for sign-in. That service may use essential authentication cookies.
Substack, social platforms, bookstores, podcast platforms, and any future payment provider operate under their own policies when you follow their links. Newsletter subscriptions are managed separately on Substack. Hosting, database services, and owner authentication are provided through the site owner’s Cloudflare account. Cloudflare’s privacy notice also applies to its processing.
03 / Survivor rights
Stories belong
to the people who lived them.
This website’s volunteer form is not a survivor-story submission channel. Only Angelia has access to her private survivor-story inbox and the raw accounts and contributor identities kept there. Volunteering, donating, or joining an event does not grant access to that material.
Contributor accounts remain their contributors’ intellectual property, subject to any separate permission they expressly provide. Sharing a story privately is not, by itself, permission to publish it or reveal identifying details. Publication, attribution, editing, images, and other uses require separate, specific permission.
Contributors can contact Angelia privately about corrections, identifying details, or permissions. Changes to material already printed or distributed may have practical limits; a request will be discussed rather than treated as a guarantee that all existing copies can be recalled.
No survivor is required to disclose an experience, give money, volunteer, or speak publicly to belong in the movement. Nobody is required to explain a boundary.
04 / Volunteering & community
Stand beside people.
Respect their boundaries.
- Treat people with dignity. Harassment, discrimination, threats, retaliation, doxxing, and pressure to disclose trauma are unacceptable.
- Keep private information private. Do not copy, share, investigate, or seek access to survivor accounts or identities.
- Stay within an agreed role. Do not present yourself as a counselor, lawyer, investigator, security officer, or WATB spokesperson without the relevant qualifications and express authorization.
- Represent the movement accurately. Get approval before fundraising, spending money, making commitments, using the WATB name for an activity, or speaking on its behalf.
- Technology and security work must have explicit authorization and a defined scope. No unauthorized access, testing, surveillance, or use of someone’s credentials.
- Follow event rules and safety directions. Participation must remain lawful and peaceful. Ask permission before photographing or identifying another person, especially at survivor-focused events.
Volunteer interest is not acceptance into a role, a promise of work, or authority to act for WATB. Role details, supervision, confidentiality, expenses, and any training or screening will be discussed before work begins. Commercial publishing work requires a separate, appropriate arrangement.
Concerns can be reported privately to Angelia. WATB may limit or end participation when boundaries, safety, or conduct expectations are breached. Retaliation for raising a concern in good faith is not acceptable.
05 / Donations
Clarity before
any contribution.
There is currently no live donation checkout on this site. No payment details are collected here, and no recurring donation is created. Organizational, registration, and payment arrangements are still being finalized.
Before a donation link is activated, the giving page must identify the recipient, intended uses of funds, relevant operating or processing costs, tax-status information, and payment-provider terms. No tax-deductibility claim is currently made. An EIN alone is not proof of tax-exempt status.
When a verified external payment provider is added, its checkout, privacy, refund, and recurring-payment terms will apply as disclosed before payment. There is no blanket “nonrefundable” policy on this site. For a concern about an earlier payment through another platform, contact that provider and Angelia with the transaction reference; do not email card numbers.
Buying a book is a purchase through the seller, subject to that seller’s terms. It is not represented here as a tax-deductible donation. Advocacy goals, planned nonprofit structures, and any future electoral campaign must not be treated as interchangeable funding recipients.
06 / Website use
Use this space
with care.
Use this website lawfully. Do not impersonate someone, submit false information, upload malicious content, interfere with the site, or try to access restricted records. Send only information you have the right to share.
Books, artwork, audio, text, and other materials remain the property of their respective rights holders. You may link to public pages. Reproduction or redistribution requires permission unless otherwise allowed by law.
Content may discuss sexual assault, trauma, and other difficult subjects. You can choose what to read or listen to and leave at any time. The website provides information and ways to connect; it does not provide emergency response, medical treatment, legal representation, or a confidential therapeutic relationship.
We aim to keep information accurate, but projects, events, availability, and links may change. Check current event instructions before making travel plans. External sites control their own content and services. Nothing in these terms removes rights that cannot legally be waived.
07 / Accessibility
Access matters.
This website is designed with readable text, keyboard navigation, labeled form fields, image descriptions, and reduced-motion support. Accessibility is ongoing, and we do not claim that every linked service or document meets a particular standard.
If something creates a barrier, email JaneDoeWATB@outlook.com with the page and what you need. An alternate way to express volunteer interest is available by email.
08 / Contact
Questions deserve
a clear place to go.
For privacy requests, corrections, accessibility barriers, volunteer concerns, or questions about these policies, contact Angelia N. Bailey at JaneDoeWATB@outlook.com. Please keep survivor accounts and sensitive case details out of general website messages.
